Afghanistan: US Embassy in Kabul asks Americans to leave the airport gates

by News Desk August 27, 2021

After Thursday’s attack, US Embassy in Kabul has asked US citizens to leave the airport gates at once. After the attacks, President Biden was warned of the imminent threats Americans could face at the airport as the evacuation process hits its final phase.

As the deadline draws near, US citizens, service members and Afghan civilians may be susceptible to frequent attacks from terrorist groups like ISIS-K.

The alert issued by the embassy advises citizens not to travel to the airport and its gates because of the security threats.

President Biden had ordered hits on ISIS-K assets and leaders following Thursday’s attack and earlier today, the US conducted an unmanned airstrike against an ISIS-K planner, killing the target in the strike while harming no civilians nearby.
