Afghanistan: Biden warns of another terror attack, likely in the next 24 to 36 hours
Acknowledging earlier reports, President Biden has warned of another possible terrorist attack that is highly likely to take place in the next 24 to 36 hours at the Kabul airport. Biden also pledges that the drone attack that killed 2 ISIS-K targets as retaliation to the suicide bombing that killed 13 US service members would not be the last one.
“This strike was not the last. We will continue to hunt down any person involved in that heinous attack and make them pay,” Biden reiterated at the beginning of the briefing.
The President then continued, “Whenever anyone seeks to harm the United States or attack our troops, we will respond,” and thanked Gen. McKenzie for his leadership on the mission in Afghanistan.
He then informed about the incessant “extremely dangerous” situation in Kabul as the evacuation process enters its final phase and warned of a highly likely terrorist attack at the Kabul airport in the next 24 to 36 hours.
“Our commanders informed me that an attack is highly likely in the next 24-36 hours,” alerted Biden.
The President concluded his briefing by paying respect to the 13 service members who were martyred.
“Their bravery and selflessness has enabled more than 117,000 people at risk to reach safety thus far. May God protect our troops and all those standing watch in these dangerous days,” Biden said at the end of his statement.
