Cuomo Sex Harassment: International Emmys take back honorary award

by News Desk August 24, 2021

Estranged New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo‘s Emmy has been taken back by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The International Academy announced today that in light of the New York Attorney General’s report, and Andrew Cuomo’s subsequent resignation as Governor, it is rescinding his special 2020 International Emmy Award. His name and any reference to his receiving the award will be eliminated from International Academy materials going forward

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences said in a statement.

Cuomo was given the Founders award for his response to the Pandemic. His much criticized response had him lock COVID positives with elderly people in nursing homes, and not only that his team was busy hiding the reports that had the real number of deaths just for his political gain.

The way for him to get the award was paved by how he came on TV almost daily ahead of the 2020 elections to spread information and provide relief to the viewers during the first outbreak.

The move to take away his award comes after Cuomo left office yesterday after New York Attorney General Letitia James released the report of an independent investigation that found Cuomo had sexually harassed multiple women. The report also exposed the toxic workplace environment created by him and his closest aides, including the likes of Melissa DeRosa.
