Louisiana mom, boyfriend arrested after toddler found dead
A Louisiana mom and her boyfriend have been arrested after a toddler was found dead in a trash can.
Houma Police arrested the two after discovering the two-year-old’s body inside a trash can. Maya Jones, 28, had alerted Houma Police around noon on Tuesday.
The mother had claimed her baby, Ezekiel Harry, 2, had been abducted in front of her by a man in a gray truck. Authorities however, believed the story to have been cooked up as according to them Jones had left with her four kids including Ezekiel and walked to the bayou.
Jones had then rushed to nearby homes claiming her baby had been abducted but around 6PM, Police found Ezekiel and determined foul play was involved. Police then took Jones and her boyfriend, Jermaine Robinson, 37, into custody.
Jail documents allege that Robinson is a career criminal, facing charges of failure to appear before court, property damage, etc.
Both the suspects were kept at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office without bond, they are expected to be charged with first-degree murder and could even face the death penalty.
