An Olalla, Washington man who was wanted for the horrific double-murder of a couple inside their house last week has been arrested.

40-year-old Shaun D. Rose was arrested around 8PM by Police at a gas station in Tacoma, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Rose was detected earlier on Sunday driving a white Buick passenger car in Mason County where he was involved in a brief chase with deputies. Ultimately, he managed to escape because of his dangerous driving.

He then ditched the white Buick for another car in Pierce County ahead of his escape to Tacoma. Police were able to arrest him at a gas station – after a struggle – where he was dumping his car.

Rose was wanted for the horrific double-murder of 51-year-old Steven and Mina Schulz. The couple was murdered at their house in 12900 block of Shady Glen Avenue Southeast in Olalla on Thursday.

The bodies of the victims were discovered by their daughter around 5:15PM the same day when she went in to check on them.

Their cause of death is still being investigated. Suspect Rose, who has a criminal record of drug use, theft, burglary, and car theft, is at the Kitsap County Jail on a no-bail felony murder warrant.

He was released on bond earlier this month after he failed to appear for a pre-trial hearing for burglary. Investigators are still on the lookout for surveillance footage, but the Sheriff’s Office thanked watchful citizens for their countless tips that led to the suspect’s arrest.
