Iran to directly help Russia with drones – NSA Jake Sullivan

by News Desk July 12, 2022

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has said that Iran has planned to supply Russia with hundreds of drones.

Some of the drones will be combat capable. The information received by the US suggests Iran is training Russian troops on how to control the drones for intel gathering and potential combat use.

It isn’t clear at the moment if Iran has delivered the drones yet, according to the NSA.

Drones in modern warfare have proved beneficial and Russia lacks this technology because of its aging technical equipment. Getting UAVs from Iran would help the Russians spot strategic Ukrainian placements and potential drone launching pads.

US Intel suggests Russia’s assault on Eastern Ukraine made a heavy impact on its military equipment. Getting Iranian drones now would mean cheaper and quicker small strikes on Ukrainian strategic locations, like the Houthis did against the Saudis.

Ukraine on the other hand has already appealed for the ‘donation’ of drones from the World.
