Tennessee woman slashed dad’s arm, assaulted grandpa – Police

A Tennessee woman allegedly went on a rampage, slashed her dad’s arm and assaulted her grandpa, according to Police.

Nevada Fortson, 25, from Elizabethton, Carter County was disarmed and overpowered by the men after she inflicted the wounds.

She now faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, violating an order of protection and aggravated burglary. Fortson had forcefully entered the residence and attacked her family who had a protection order against her.

Fortson had allegedly broken into the house from a window shortly after 2AM on Tuesday. Her mother was alerted by the sound and locked herself in her room after seeing the woman in the guestroom.

Nevada Fortson’s 64-year-old father, Doug Fortson, then battled her in the hallway to snatch the ax she was allegedly wielding. The father said the suspect slashed him three times with the weapon.

Her maternal grandpa who helped the father overpower the suspect was punched in the face and given a black eye.

When Police arrived, they saw the suspect run behind the house while screaming. Police also found two men arguing inside a car which was backing out of the driveway.

Although, it isn’t clear whether the men were involved in the incident or just gave the suspect a ride – a deputy heard one of them repeatedly say that he’s “not going back to prison.”

He had also used the F— word and was blaming the passenger for allegedly getting him involved. The men later claimed to have only given Fortson a ride.

When deputies entered the home, they found Doug with severe cuts on the right arm and the grandfather with a swollen black eye.

Suspect Nevada Fortson is being held at the Carter County jail on a $130,000 bond.

She was also arrested last month for violating a protection order, and has a list of charges ranging from trespassing, domestic assault and resisting arrest all in the last few months.

Both of her alleged accomplices, 30-year-old Christopher Price and 31-year-old Daniel Fleenor, also have a criminal history.
