Disgraced New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo released a video message asking residents to take the storm seriously and also declared a state of emergency for various part of New York state.

Massachusetts has announced the closure of its beaches and parks from Sunday to Monday, after assessing the damage caused by the storm and how much the cleanup process would need to be intensified. New York City has also announced the closure of its beaches from Sunday to Monday and swimming too will be prohibited.

With strong winds, heavy rainfall is also expected to do a lot of damage, with rainfalling for days after the Henri hits.

Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts has called in the state’s National Guard and up to a 1000 guardsmen will help clear debris and helping those affected by the storm.

Heavy rainfall may also lead to flash flooding and the currents will be dangerous for the next two days after Henri dissipates.
