Afghanistan: Taliban tell fighters to stop looting

by News Desk August 17, 2021

After news started circulating of Taliban fighters entering peoples’ houses in Kabul in search of wanted targets and to loot, the Taliban deputy leader Molvi Yaqoob has now told the fighters not to invade private property.

The leader has also told the fighters not to interfere with vehicles transporting foreign embassy staff to the airport for evacuation.

A warning has been issued declaring strict punishments to those involved in looting. Government officials working under the Ghani administration are being encouraged to get back to work so that the system can restart.

Images that surfaced online showed individuals painting over the walls and adverts that had women, and music has also been banned all over Afghanistan. The Taliban leader(s) will “address the nation” later today and is expected to lay the foundation stone of their rule.
