Never Forget: President Biden honors victims during Pentagon visit

Never Forget: President Biden honored 9/11 victims in a speech given during his visit to the Memorial Ceremony held at the Pentagon.

The President commemorated the 21st Anniversary of the day that changed America forever and keeps somber Americans united under an even stronger resolve.

In his speech, Biden remembered those who were killed at the Pentagon when the plane carrying innocents was deliberately crashed by terrorists committing the cowardly attack. Along with honoring the victims, Biden talked about strengthening Democracy while refraining from making a political statement that would indeed have been ill-timed.

The 9/11 attacks were planned and conducted by al-Qaida terrorists and their leader Osama Bin Laden. Four planes were hijacked, two were deliberately crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, one was crashed into the outlying stretch of the Pentagon building, while one hijacking was stopped by brave passengers who met their unfortunate fate when the plane subsequently crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania because of their intervention.

2,977 innocents lost their lives in the cowardly attacks.

We’ll keep the memory of all those precious lives stolen from — from us: 2,977 — at Ground Zero in New York; in Shanksville, where my wife is speaking now — in Pennsylvania; 184 of them here at the Pentagon.

The President said.

The President also highlighted the crucial efforts our brave firefighters and Police officers put in, inhaling the toxins and putting their own health at risk for months without second thought, just searching and hoping to find another living and breathing person under the smoke and rubble.

He also thanked the thousands of service members who risked their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan to protect America and stop terrorists from building safe havens.

And to all our service members and their families, our veterans, our Gold Star families, all the survivors and caregivers and loved ones who have sacrificed so much for our nation: We owe you.  We owe you an incredible — an incredible debt, a debt that can never be repaid but will never fail to meet the sacred obligation to you to properly prepare and equip those that we send into harm’s way and care for those and their families when they come home — and to never, ever, ever forget.

The President added.

Later in the speech, President Biden also put emphasis on terrorist Zahwahiri who was put down in a drone strike in August. “We’ll never forget.  We’ll never give up. And now, Zawahiri can never again threaten the American people,” he said.

The President said that our “Intelligence, Defense, Counterterrorism professionals” are busy working round the clock to “monitor and disrupt terrorist activities wherever we find them, wherever they exist.”

“We’ll never hesitate to do what’s necessary to defend the American people,” he added.

He then focused on the importance of defending and preserving our Democracy.

For always remember: The American democracy depends on the habits of the heart of “We the People.”  That’s how our Constitution — “We the People.”  The habits of heart of “We the People.”

It’s not enough to stand up for democracy once a year or every now and then.  It’s something we have to do every single day.

President Biden said.

The President concluded his speech by thanking everyone. “May God bless you all. And may God honor the members of the military we lost and all those we lost here on 9/11. May God protect our troops.” Amen.
