Trans woman removed from NJ prison after impregnating 2 women
A trans woman who impregnated two women at a women’s-only NJ prison has been removed and moved to another facility.
27-year-old Demi Minor was removed from Clinton’s Edna Mahan Correctional Facility and sent to Garden State Youth Correctional Facility last month.
Minor, serving a 30-year sentence for manslaughter is the only trans woman incarcerated at the facility for young adult offenders. On her website, she has claimed that corrections officers assaulted her during her transfer.
NJ.com had reported in April that a spokesperson for the NJDOC had told them that two women had become pregnant at the Edna Mahan facility after having “consensual sexual relationships” with another incarcerated person.
The state’s Department of Corrections has started an investigation into the matter. New Jersey’s Edna Mahan Corrections Facility has long been infamous for its sexual assault scandals and the Governor has already announced plans to shut it down. Edna Mahan is also New Jersey’s sole women’s-only prison.
