Suspected carjacking ended with Georgia man’s shooting
A Georgia man was shot dead at a gas station on Sunday while attempting to stop a suspected carjacking, according to Police.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 12:20PM – reporting of a person shot at Quik Trip convenience store in Peachtree Corners, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The victim, a Black male, was found deceased near the vehicle at the gas station’s air pumps. His identity remains unreleased at the moment.
Authorities believe the victim was in the middle of pumping gas into his tires when a black vehicle with three people inside parked next to his vehicle. One of the suspects soon jumped into the driver’s seat.
The victim, realizing what was happening, tried to stop the suspects from stealing his car. Two suspects were then involved in a physical fight with him and he was shot after the driver of the suspect vehicle backed into a third car waiting to use the pumps.
All the suspects then fled from the scene and investigators are still analyzing footage and questioning possible witnesses.
The identities of the suspects remain unknown at the moment.
