The San Francisco Unified School District used over half a million dollars to fight a lawsuit over its attempt to remove George Washington’s mural which was “offensive” to some.

The funds used were meant for development work. The District instead, used the money to fight lawsuits over a pointless decision that has every American saddened and concerned.

Approx. $525,000 was spent fighting a suit over the decision to remove George Washington’s mural – which the board claimed was “offensive” to Black and Native Americans. The mural targeted stands at the Washington High School.

The Unified School District’s lawyer however, has defended the decision to use funds to pay for a settlement as well as legal fees. Claiming, the bond funds used were intended for “health and safety” risks and the mural present at the High School caused ‘psychological harm’ to students.

The funds used in the legal battle were from the $744m bond funding the District receives.
