Five MS-13 gang members convicted in ‘chopping’ of Virginia teens
Five MS-13 gang members who abducted and murdered two innocent teenage Virginia boys have been convicted by a federal Jury.
The gang members, Elmer Zelaya Martinez, 31, Henry Zelaya Martinez, 28, Duglas Ramirez Ferrera, 25, Ronald Herrera Contreras, and Pablo Velasco Berrera, both 24, planned to abduct and kill a 17-year-old from Falls Church and a 14-year-old from Alexandria.
The convicts believed the victims to be police informants. The boys were tricked by the gang members to join them at Holmes Run Stream Valley Park on August 28, 2016 for a gang meeting.
Upon arrival, the 17-year-old victim of the heinous crime was stabbed multiple times, his body ‘chopped’ hundreds of times with “knives, machetes, and a pickaxe,” and then forced into an already dug hole, breaking one of his legs, according to DOJ.

The 14-year-old was also attacked and killed, both of his legs were broken and he was tied to his pajama so he could be thrown into the already dug hole.
The chilling crime was filmed by the convicts and they later sent it to the gang’s leaders in the US and El Salvador so they could be promoted.
Both the boys were reported missing soon after the disappearance in August 2016, their remains were found in March 2017 and were identified in December the same year.
The six-year-old case hasn’t come to an end yet as a total of 17 suspects were charged. The five convicted on Friday in a Virginia Federal Court were found guilty of conspiracy to abducting and murder and violent crimes in aid of racketeering activity, conspiracy to abduct, abduction resulting in death.
The criminals are also set to face compulsory life sentences.
