Louisiana juvenile inmates who escaped with guard apprehended

Three juvenile inmates who had escaped from a Louisiana detention center on Saturday morning have been apprehended and taken into custody, according to Police.

It is suspected that the inmates escaped with the help of a security officer. 21-year-old Victoria Tune is suspected to have helped the three inmates, Jeremiah Durham, 17, Na’Varaya Lane, 15, and TyJuan Lafitte, 17, escape from the Ware Youth Detention Center in Coushatta, Louisiana, according to a statement released by the Red River Parish’s Sheriff’s Office after the incident unfolded.

The statement had warned residents to be on the lookout for a 2010 white Pontiac G6 which was suspected to be used by Tune to get the juvenile inmates to flee.

The inmates were successfully apprehended in Texas by the Houston PD around 2AM on Sunday. Authorities had located the getaway vehicle parked at a motel parking lot.

The vehicle was surveilled by the Houston PD’s Crime Suppression Team until the suspects finally reappeared and entered it, only to be caught on the spot. Tune, who was driving the vehicle, was caught along with the inmates, according to the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The apprehension was a joint effort by the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana State Police Troop G Investigations Unit, the Louisiana Fusion Center, and finally, the Houston Police Department’s Crime Suppression Team.

All the suspects are now set to be extradited back to Louisiana and face a set of additional charges.

This is the second such incident incident just a week apart, where a security officer was somehow emotionally involved with inmates and helped them escape.

All three juveniles were in for armed robbery, attempted first and second degree murder respectively.
