Russian ambassador to Poland painted in red
Monday – Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreev during a visit to Warsaw, Poland’s Soviet soldier cemetery was met with strong anti-war protests that resulted in his face being drenched with red paint.
Andreev was commemorating Russia’s “Victory Day” celebrations at the Warsaw cemetery when he along with his company were surrounded with protestors who were chanting anti-war slogans and demanded Putin ends the invasion of Ukraine.
Videos circulating online show the Ambassador covered in red along with the protestors. Balloons filled with red paint were thrown at him.
The red is assumed to depict the unnecessary and avoidable bloodshed that is happening in Ukraine all because of one man, Vladimir Putin, and his dreams of reverting to a “Greater Russia.”
