NATO sends 30,000 troops to Norway

by News Desk March 12, 2022

NATO has announced that it will send about 30,000 troops to Norway on Monday to send Russia a message.

Around 30,000 troops, 50 vessels and 200 aircraft will join the Cold Response 2022 exercises of the military alliance in Norway on Monday. The exercises will consequently become NATO’s largest so far in 2022.

Although, the exercises were planned long before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they are set to send Moscow a message that NATO will respond to any further acts of aggression, and threats to Europe’s sovereignty and security. They will train the participating servicemembers of the 27 countries to cope with the Arctic’s cold weather.

The exercises will end around April 01, and will be conducted just a few hundred miles away from the Russian border.
