A Burger King cashier was shot and killed during a robbery in Harlem early on Sunday morning.

The NYPD responded to the scene after getting reports of gunshots coming from the fast-food chain’s 24-hour East Harlem branch.

Officers found the wounded 19-year-old cashier, Kristal Bayron, and alerted EMS that took her to the Metropolitan Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect who is at large had entered the branch at around 1AM and demanded money. Kristal had reportedly given the suspect $100 which he took but shot her anyway before leaving.

Kristal had started working at the branch about three weeks ago. According to her family, she wanted her shift to be changed and given improved security.

Her family was left distraught and said that Kristal was worried over the countless homeless people sleeping in front of the store every day.

Kristal’s suitor was also in the restaurant at the time of the tragedy. The suitor reportedly told Kristal’s mother that the suspect came back to shoot the girl even after getting all the money.

He had also whipped and injured two more people, including Kristal’s suitor.

The suspect was attired in all black and was wearing a black mask. Kristal’s mother has been left devastated. She blames herself for sending her girl to work that day.

Police are trying to find the suspect who now has a $3,500 bounty placed by Crime Stoppers.
