Both suspects behind Veteran Illinois Police officer Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic’s death and officer Tyler Bailey’s critical condition have been apprehended after a manhunt that lasted over 30 hours.

Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic, 49, lost her life in the shooting and officer Tyler Bailey, 27, is in a critical condition ever since. They were shot while responding to a noise complaint at a Comfort Inn motel in Kankakee County.

The manhunt ended when Police found suspect Darius Sullivan, 25, inside his North Manchester, Indiana home on Friday morning. A 19-year-old was also taken into custody during the raid.

Sullivan’s arrest comes after Police placed a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. So far, it isn’t clear whether someone informed them of Sullivan’s whereabouts.

During the raid, Police found drugs and weapons at the scene, and Sullivan reportedly did not resist.

Hours after his arrest, the second suspect Xandria Harris, 26, surrendered to Police in Bradley, Illinois.

Authorities arrested at least two more people from Indiana and believe them to be involved in this murder. Their relation to the case is still being investigated.

Police are now working to get Sullivan extradited back to Illinois and face charges.
