North Carolina cop accidentally shoots and injures teen son

A North Carolina Police officer accidentally shot and injured his 15-year-old son on Monday night.

The teen was struck in the head by the bullet at his house in Onslow County. The incident is being investigated and has been dubbed as “tragic” by District Attorney Ernie Lee.

The victim remained hospitalized at a Medical Center in Greenville all day on Tuesday and is battling life-threatening injuries. The boy’s father, a Police officer, with North Carolina’s Jacksonville Police Department has not yet been charged.

The Jacksonville Police Department is now cooperating with the Sheriff’s office that is conducting an investigation. Evidence is being collected and will determine whether any charges would be filed against the father.
