West needs to stand together against China – Trudeau
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that Western countries need to stand together against China which often pits them against one another.
He said the problem arises as Western countries attempt to enter China’s massive markets. Allowing the country to coerce and blackmail them while pitting them against each other.
Canada’s relationship with China has deteriorated over time and dented especially after the arrest of Huawei’s CFO at Vancouver Airport.
In order to blackmail Canada into released Meng, China arrested two Canadian nationals over espionage allegations.
China’s coercion tactics were completely exposed earlier this year after it released the Canadians after Meng reached a deal with US prosecutors and was released without being extradited to the US.
Canada has long urged China to respect the human rights of the Chinese people, and the people of Xinjiang who China persecutes. This (obviously) did not go well with Beijing which now sees Canada as an enemy.
China, in its typical undiplomatic way, has always reiterated that all of its “enemies” will pay a price.
It’s state-controlled “media” outlets will now start spreading propaganda against the Canadian Prime Minister. Western “looking” experts will be “invited” to propagate for the CCP.
