Pennsylvania man kills intruder who assaulted his wife

An Adams County resident shot and killed an intruder who assaulted him and his wife inside their home.

The 54-year-old suspect was identified as Steven Shaffer who entered the house of the elderly couple at around 11:30AM.

He was shot multiple times by the homeowner after his wife was assaulted on the bed while trying to get her husband’s gun.

The homeowner had managed to get a hold of his gun while the suspect was assaulting his wife on their bed.

The woman is in her 70s and is in critical condition at a local Hospital. The husband too is hospitalized.

Police received countless 911 calls reporting a man was roaming around the street and punching on vehicles.

Shaffer was only wearing a shirt when he unlocked the front door of the elderly couple before assaulting them.
