Amber alert issued for missing 3-year-old San Antonio girl
San Antonio, Texas Police have issued an amber alert after a 3-year-old girl was reported missing from her apartment complex.
3-year-old Lina Sardar Khil was at a playground in her family’s apartment complex when she vanished after he mother had left her unattended for a while.
Khil’s family members are Afghan refugees, and it isn’t clear whether they arrived in the US during August’s troop withdrawal.
She was last seen at around 5PM on Monday. Authorities still aren’t sure whether the child got lost or has been abducted.
Police are actively interviewing the other parents there at the time of Khil’s disappearance. They are describing the incident as “suspicious.”
Multiple agencies including the FBI are now involved in this case. Khil’s family are being asked if there is a language barrier which would make it difficult for the child to communicate with the locals.
Questions are being raised online as to why the mother had left her child unattended when it might have been only months since they’ve been in the area and maybe the country?
San Antonio Police Department is asking anyone with information to call this number 210-207-7660.
