7 dead bodies found in Moorhead, Minnesota homes

Investigators say carbon monoxide poisoning was the cause of the family members’ deaths. Their blood tests showed lethal levels of the chemical.

The family had moved from Honduras in 2013 and included 3 children. The couple’s brother and niece are also among the 7 victims.

Authorities are still trying to find the cause of the poisonings. The house has two sources for carbon monoxide, one is the furnace and the other is a van in the garage.

The test results can take up to 8 weeks. So far, it seems accidental as the chemical is colorless and odorless.

Five of the victims were found in their beds while two of them were on the floor. Authorities believe the couple was awake when it happened.

Sunday – Seven dead bodies were found inside two houses in southern Moorhead, Minnesota.

The victims, according to the Police, included four adults and three children. The authorities did not identify their cause of death.

The bodies were found on Saturday evening by concerned family members going in to check on their wellbeing. The members informed Police after discovering the bodies.

Officials are not seeking any suspects as of yet since there are no signs of violence or a forced entry. The City’s mayor said his community mourns with the families of those killed in this “horrible” tragedy.

Autopsies are now being conducted on the bodies to determine the cause of death. The victims will be identified soon. An investigation is still ongoing.
