Over 40 dead in deadly Bulgaria bus crash
Over 40 people have died, including 12 children, after a bus crashed and caught fire in Western Bulgaria.
The incident occurred on a highway at about 02:00 local time near the Bulgarian village of Bosnek. The cause of the crash and fire is being investigated.
The bus was mostly carrying Macedonian passengers, and the highway has been sealed off.
Officials are unsure whether the bus caught fire first, or crashed first. Bulgaria’s interim Prime Minister Stefan Yanev has described the incident as a “huge tragedy,” he is in discussion with his Macedonian counterpart.
The passengers were on vacation in Turkey and were returning back to Macedonia.
