Brooks tricked a local resident to let them in their house 20 minutes after the incident. Police caught him after a neighbor became suspicious.
Brooks was out on a $1,000 bail just two days before this incident. He was facing charges for running over the mother of his child. Brooks was also out on bail for shooting at his nephew and another person.

They were part of the group Milwaukee Dancing Grannies who participate in the event every year.
About 18 children are among the 48 injured, 10 of them required treatment in the ICU.

According to Police officials, the suspect was allegedly fleeing another scene when he ran into the people at the parade. The incident so far has not been declared as an act of terrorism.
Waukesha city officials have just confirmed that at least five people have died, with over 40 people injured in this horrific incident. They have however, added that the numbers can change.
Some reports online have identified the suspect as a black male named Darrell E. Brooks. He allegedly has a lengthy criminal history.
President Biden has been briefed on the incident.
Over 25 people are being treated in Waukesha hospitals. A Catholic priest, multiple parishioners are among the injured.

A red SUV rammed into a Christmas parade in Wisconsin, hitting over 20 people, including children.
Videos posted online showed the red SUV ripping through barriers at the Christmas parade in the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
More than 20 people were struck and deaths have been reported but the Police have refrained from identifying the victims until the family members were told.
The youngest child struck is said to be only 9 years old.
Witnesses say they heard a loud bang and then cries and screams from the people hit by the vehicle.
The suspect is in Police custody. His identity has not been confirmed but is expected to be announced soon along with his motive.
Officers fired at the vehicle to stop it and told people to take shelter in nearby shops.
Up to 11 adults and 12 children were taken to nearby hospitals, according to Fire Chief Steven Howard.
Waukesha’s public schools will remain closed on Monday after this traumatic incident.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said he and his wife were “praying for Waukesha tonight.” Mayor Shawn Reilly offered condolences and said his “heart goes out for all those affected by this senseless act.” He also added that it was a traumatic time for the city.
The White House is also “closely monitoring” the situation and is ready to offer support if required to state and local officials. The FBI is already assisting with the investigation.
