The moment’s silence commemorates the crashing of the fourth plane into a field in the township.
The hijackers had planned to crash the fourth plane into the Capitol building in D.C., but the brave passengers overpowered the terrorists.
The names of the 40 victims of the crash will be read aloud in Shanksville after President George W. Bush delivers remarks in the ceremony open to families of the victims and other invited guests.
Bells of Remembrance are being rung in Shanksville, Pennsylvania in honor of the victims of Flight 93.
Officials are reading out the names of those killed and ringing the bells for each person.
VP Kamala Harris and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf are also present at the ceremony.
