BLM Utah president resigns

by News Desk August 12, 2021

Lex Scott, president of BLM’s Utah chapter announced her resignation after receiving countless “death threats” as a result of her inflammatory Facebook post which had her call the American flag “a symbol of hatred.”

She made the post a day after the Fourth of July and went on to declare that people who fly the US flag are antagonistic towards people of color.

As a protest we have crossed the quote. When we Black Americans see this flag we know the person flying it is not safe to be around. When we see this flag we know the person flying it is a racist. When we see this flag we know that the person flying it lives in a different America than we do. When we see this flag, we question your intelligence. We know to avoid you. It is a symbol of hatred,” the page in a post on July 05, 2021.

Since then she has faced a lot of criticism from Americans who were left in shock and were disturbed by such a hateful post trying to criticize their freedom and love for their country. Scott claimed to have received “death threats” and has now relocated to an undisclosed state.

“Goodbye Utah, as of this moment I Lex Scott am stepping down as the President of Black Lives Matter Utah Chapter. I am also stepping down as President of the Utah Black History Museum. I also no longer reside in Utah. My family and I have relocated to another state,” the Black Lives Matter Utah Chapter in a post on Monday.

The page also posted a disturbing gif which has someone thanking Scott and it certainly isn’t for the faint of heart.

Scott announced her family will be moving with her to an “all black” city (which in itself sounds racist). She has also resigned as the president of the Utah Black Museum.
