BBC’s investigative bombshell over the origins of COVID have hurt the Chinese Communist Party and the average Chinese who has been brainwashed into worshiping the CCP no matter the outcome.

Foreign journalists reporting the devastation caused by the floods that have engulfed China are reportedly being harassed and followed by angry mobs and loners who are chanting slogans against the free media for reporting fairly and reporting where China is “Fragile: Use with care.”

The “citizens” of China who have been harassing foreign reporters are accusing them of distorting China’s image but they forget that it’s a nation that makes or breaks its own image and a key factor of their way of thinking indicates just how authoritarian the nationalist Chinese can be, and they would willingly spread disinformation to hide the facts and send out a scripted image of China.

Unfortunately for them, such tactics can only work for so long and it is only a matter of time before all is exposed and the fragility is tested.

You can only fool yourself by repeating something that is factually incorrect, the other person would either try and convince you or they would just ignore you and make you assume they have been convinced.

July 24, 2021 – Mathias Boelinger harassed by a mob in Zhengzhou during an interview with DW news

Mathias was questioned on “why reporters spread lies about China,” maybe they want us to report of no floods occurring in China and everyone is happy?

The agitation must be alienating to a lot of people but it’s easy to understand once we realize how nationalism works and how authoritarianism fuels it to feed off of it and create a perfect environment for its own existence.

A video posted on a Chinese social media website shows someone trying to snatch away Mathias’ mobile phone.

The journalist himself has shared the video on twitter. He was also mistaken for a BBC reporter, with someone actually showing him a picture of a BBC reporter who has been reporting from China and maybe who the locals were after to maybe send a clear message.

Safety for journalists has always been a concern but that hasn’t stopped journalists from doing their jobs and if China thinks it can threaten or subdue journalists from covering the truth then it has never been so wrong as there will always be someone who exposes or reports the truth.

Even China’s foreign-office is active in spewing venom against everyone outside of China.

They very recently attacked Reuters for using a picture of a Chinese athlete that they did not like.

In the posts that were dripping with hatred, the picture was compared with one of a non-Chinese athlete and not only was Reuters hysterically accused of racism but the West in its entirety was called evil.

According to DW News, Mathias has said he’s used to being harassed, spied upon and followed but he did not expect to receive hateful messages on twitter.

So reporting in China is like visiting a lone secluded mansion where everyone is keeping an eye on you and doing whatever they can to make you avoid or stop you from opening that one door hiding the dead body.

If China has nothing to hide then it shouldn’t be scared because disinformation can only go so far and sooner or later people would realize if the foreign media is spreading disinformation. But to lock all the doors and stand outside and preach everything is fine would naturally raise eyebrows, and in reaction to shave those raised eyebrows you would go to any length in your power.

Hence, authoritarian.

Such attacks are to let the World know that China isn’t happy and send the media a message to tread lightly as China is fragile, but like all totalitarian systems China too miscalculates one thing, it can try to curb the media from reporting the truth but it cannot succeed.

One goes down, ten stand up.
