German soccer team leaves Olympics warm-up after alleged ‘racial abuse’

The German soccer Olympics team left a warm-up match early on after one of their players was racially abused.

The warm-up between Germany and Honduras was left unfinished as the German team boycotted and cleared the pitch 5 minutes before full-time.

The event took place on Saturday in the city of Wakayama. The score was tied 1-1 before the German team decided to walk off.

Later on, the team’s official page DFT (Deutschland Football Team) tweeted the reason for their protest, claiming one of their black players Jordan Torunarigha was ‘racially abused’. Albeit, they did not reveal the actual source of racial abuse but the Honduras team’s reply gave us a hint that the German side might actually be the victim.

The Honduras team replied in a tweet calling it a ‘misunderstanding on the pitch’ and confirming that a German player had accused a Honduras player for passing racist remarks.

Racial abuse is a growing trend in sports. Recently, Three black players of the English soccer team faced racial discrimination and hatred after all three of them missed the penalty shootout against Italy, consequently losing the Euro Cup finals.

The media is to blame for the rise in racial discrimination as when you give wind to the diversity in teams, boast about it when a team is winning then you would expect a massive reaction when the team loses. The media boasted about the diverse English team (which is good if they actually are able players) and declared diversity brought England the victories, and when they lost the final. The worst happened.
