Fully vaccinated can dump masks – CDC

by News Desk May 14, 2021

May 13, 2021 – The CDC’s newest guidelines for the people fully vaccinated bring out news Americans have been craving to hear. Masks are not essential indoors or outdoors if you are fully vaccinated and not only that you don’t need to be tested for COVID while travelling to other countries unless the destination country requires you to do so, and you do not need to self-quarantine when you return back to the US.

But the CDC does recommend you to be cautious and be on the lookout for any COVID related symptoms.

Here is the list of their newest guidelines for the ones who have been fully vaccinated:

  • “Update that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
  • “Update that fully vaccinated people can refrain from testing following a known exposure unless they are residents or employees of a correctional or detention facility or a homeless shelter.”

The key points of their guidelines:

  • “Resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
  • “Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel.”
  • “Refrain from testing before leaving the United States for international travel (unless required by the destination) and refrain from self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States.”
  • “Refrain from testing following a known exposure, if asymptomatic, with some exceptions for specific settings.”
  • “Refrain from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic.”
  • “Refrain from routine screening testing if feasible.”

Fully vaccinated people should continue to do the following (For now):

  • “Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.”
  • “Follow CDC and health department travel requirements and recommendations.”

Currently, the vaccinations in the US are proving to be “highly effective” but the CDC wishes us to be cautious as the virus can mutate again so the best strategy is to go normal but steadily.
