The US should abandon Ukraine and Nato after Macron comments
The US should just abandon Ukraine and Nato after the comments made by French President Emmanuel Macron after his China visit.
The French President said Europe should not be caught in “crises that are not ours” and that France is an ally of the US not a “vassal.” With that logic why do we even care about what happens to the EU after Nato disbands?
Our men and women are busting their … helping Ukraine and risking their lives gathering intel to protect all of Europe militarily and financially. Yet the French think they shouldn’t be drawn into crises that would eventually affect them in the short and long-term indirectly.
It is heartbreaking to see a European leader following his visit to China singing the Chinese song and allowing Beijing to launch its propaganda machines against the World order in another bid to brainwash smaller and developing nations it has coerced with its BRI debt.
Macron hasn’t even backed down and instead has now stood by them. France has the right to do whatever it wants and is in its interest, but so does the US.
It is in our collective (US and Europe) interest to work together like we have in the past, but it won’t be us who would be affected – other than short-term financial losses – if we abandon Nato and just sit back and sip our coffee.
What does the US contribute to Nato?
The US will pay 16% of the cost – out of the $3bn – it takes to run Nato till 2024. Let’s not forget that this 16% is thanks to the efforts made by President Trump.
In 2019, President Trump pushed countries, especially Germany, to do more since it’s earning a lot more than its spending on defense apart from relying on Russia for its vital energy needs that in time has proven to be a huge mistake.
Before 2019, the US was paying more than 22% of the costs needed to run Nato. This comes along with our brave service members who are stationed throughout Europe.
The problem here for the US is that France does not represent all of Europe, and abandoning Nato would mean abandoning all of our allies, even those who understand and firmly believe why the World must unite against another growing threat.
This dilemma has stopped the US from taking the extreme unthinkable measure of abandoning Europe and the World.
A combined effort from Europe is needed to tell this French administration that it is in everyone’s interest to tackle the growing Chinese authoritarianism that is endangering the World and taking it to the same bottomless pre-WWII pit.
What would happen if the US just isolates itself?
What would happen if the US just isolates itself? Sure, our economy would crumble but we will focus on domestic production as the old World once again starts fighting.
Russia will take over Ukraine and will start its expansion while China will take over Taiwan and would partner with neighboring Pakistan to fight India leading to a possible nuclear war since the US won’t intervene and neither of the three being rational enough to think otherwise when things go out of control.
China would then attack other East Asia countries in a bid to ‘unify’ and in China’s words, ‘dispel instigators and evil spirits.’ The Middle East will go in more chaos that will spread westward to Europe with many countries siding with China and Russia as Europe struggles to convince them to think otherwise.
Africa will be marred with infighting with Mercenary groups toppling governments to start their defense production for their respective clients or countries apart from actively participating in attacks.
Europe will eventually be trapped from all sides and the World will engulf in another never-ending war.
No acknowledgement for the US for balancing things
The World doesn’t acknowledge how much the US does to keep the situation balanced.
Now, there have been cases where we have been blamed for chaos (apart from the propaganda), but that has always been for the greater good. We cannot plan and do things for the World that are perfect – no one can unless there’s only one country in the World – but we have been able to guide it in a way that has kept it going, helped it move forward even with all the chaos. Time has proven this.
Imagine a World where the US just sits back and watches.
That World isn’t far if Europe doesn’t unify and understand that sure the World is imperfect, but it can be a hell lot worse – hell itself – if the current order collapses.
There has long been a disparity among American lawmakers and the American people.
Americans are tired of being blamed for all the wrongs and if its left up to them then they won’t take a minute to abandon the World.
It is our lawmakers – with the greater sense and knowledge along with the intel of what’s in our interest and why the World must be protected – who keep supporting Nato and other countries militarily and financially to keep the World a ‘reasonable’ place to live in collectively.
It is up to Europe and the rest of the World to decide what it wants. Shall we disband Nato and all aid to other countries? A lot of us are ready to take the financial hit and we are ready to protect our homeland, not the rest of the World if we are not wanted.
