Seoul Halloween crush has taken 151 lives, and injured over 80 people among a large crowd of 100,000 people celebrating Halloween.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has announced a period of national grief after Saturday’s tragic incident left over 150 people dead.

Over 335 missing reports have been filed and 19 foreigners are believed to be among the dead. Local officials are expecting the death toll to rise.

The incident occurred when a large number of the crowd entered a tight alleyway in Itaewon, a popular nightlife district. The people in the alley started to suffocate as more and more people entered to only pile on and crush each other.

As the area was tight, with nowhere to escape, many were stomped as they suffocated. Paramedics, who were overwhelmed by the number of victims, urged locals to help give first aid.

An emergency has been declared by the South Korean President as he launched an investigation.

Most of the victims are believed to be teens and young adults, under or just over the age of 20. People were already taking to social media to highlight how “unsafe” Itaewon felt because of the massive crowd.

A temporary morgue has been made near the scene. The entire World is saddened by this tragic incident. President Biden and other World leaders have already offered their condolences.
