Migrants found dead; 53 nabbed at Texas border

8 migrants were found dead, with 53 nabbed as they were crossing the Rio Grande at the Texas border.

Bodies of 6 out of the 8 dead migrants were found by the US while 2 were found by Mexico. At least 37 migrants were rescued from the Rio Grande by Border Force.

The Rio Grande river provides drinking water to over 6 million people.

Mexico has nabbed around 40 suspects from its side. Authorities in the US have launched an effort to look for other migrants who may have drowned.

Communities around the border and lawmakers have long urged the Biden Administration to take measures to combat illegal crossings that are not only dangerous for Americans but the migrants themselves.
