Arcadia Shooting: Suspect barricaded after shooting officer

The lone suspect behind an active shooting in Arcadia has barricaded himself inside after shooting an officer and injuring a couple of others.

Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a report of at least three injuries, including a Police officer. SWAT members are actively involved in the standoff with the suspect who has barricaded himself inside his home.

According to the Arcadia PD, there was an argument between two brothers, out of which one was armed. As officers responded to a call and arrived at the scene, gunshots were heard and one of the officers was shot in the face. The gunshots came from inside the house, according to the Police.

Other than the Police officer, a female family member of the suspect was also shot and another person was hit by possible shrapnel. Police managed to make an arrest but it is unclear at the moment if it’s the barricaded suspect.

Police are actively trying to prolong the incident by negotiating with the suspect via phone.

The officer who was shot is expected to survive and is in stable condition.
