Body of missing hiker found at Utah’s Canyonlands National Park
The body of the hiker who went missing during a short hike has been found at Utah’s Canyonlands National Park, according to the National Park Service.
The Park Service received a report of a missing male hiker who didn’t return after a short hike from the Red Elephant Hill. A rescue team was formed consisting of the Canyonlands and Mesa Verda Park Service staff, and the San Juan County personnel.
At around 10AM on Tuesday, the rescue team managed to find the body that fit the description of the missing man.
San Juan County is now investigating the incident and the body of the man has been transferred to the County’s Medical Examiner’s Office.
It isn’t clear how the hiker died, but temperatures during the hot summer can exceed over 100 degrees.
