Police arrest two in California for setting man on fire

California Police have arrested a man and a woman for allegedly setting another man on fire, according to Police.

38-year-old Patricia Castillo, and 43-year-old Leonard Hawkins face charges of attempted murder, arson and conspiracy, the Sanger Police Department announced.

Police were alerted and arrived on scene after 9PM PT on Thursday at a park in Sanger, California in Fresno County. The victim who suffered severe burns was able to speak to officers when they arrived on scene.

According to Police, the man told the officers that a woman lit him on fire. The crime was caught on tape and occurred at 8:30PM the same day.

Both the suspects were identified by investigators after checking the surveillance footage and a witness testimony. Castillo had approached the victim and threw a liquid at him before arguing and lighting him on fire.

Hawkins, the second suspect, had provided Castillo with the liquid used to set the victim on fire.

The victim is expected to survive and is at a local hospital. Both, Castillo and Hawkins are at the Fresno County Jail.
