Washington state Police officer stabbed while trying to detain child rapist
A Centralia, Washington state Police officer was stabbed in the head as he tried to arrest a child rape suspect who was later shot and killed by Police.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department detectives were trying to arrest a man in his early 30s in Chehalis for an investigation of second-degree child rape.
As the detectives approached the suspect’s residence, he reached for his gun and was then embroiled in a shootout which helped the suspect flee and led the Police to call for backup.
The suspect was later found after 12PM with the help of a K9 Unit. This time, he was approached by Centralia Police officers, out of which one deputy was stabbed in the head by the suspect.
The officers swiftly reacted to this brazen attack and shot and killed the suspect on the spot, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The injured officer was quickly rushed to a nearby Hospital for surgery – his condition is stable.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office will now lead an investigation into the matter which involved personnel from several departments.
