North Korean missile reached Mach 10, more advanced – South Korea

by News Desk January 11, 2022

A ballistic missile launched by North Korea on Tuesday reached Mach 10 speeds and was more advanced, according to Seoul.

The missile was launched from the country’s Ryanggang Province, near the border with China. The projectile landed in the ocean between the Korean Peninsula and Japan, and covered over 400 miles, reaching a height of about 35 miles.

North Korean state-controlled media called it a hypersonic missile test which experts believe to be unlikely. South Korea has said it can detect and intercept this type of weapon and is readily reinforcing its system to adapt.

The US Forces Korea (USFK) has declared the missile to pose no threat to the US and South Korea, but acknowledged it to further destabilize the region.

South Korean Joint Chiefs said the South Korean and US intelligence is at work, but one thing is certain that this missile was more advanced.
