New details emerge and suggest the father of 7-year-old Harmony Montgomery might be behind her disappearance.

Police arrested Adam Montgomery, 31, from Manchester, New Hampshire on Tuesday.

He is facing charges ranging from second-degree assault to several misdemeanors. He had a warrant for allegedly assaulting Harmony in 2019.

Montgomery was five years old when she disappeared and was reported missing just last week. It isn’t clear who reported her missing but her great-uncle told NewsNation that he had warned Family Services her life was in danger.

The great-uncle claims that Police never took his warnings seriously and had raised alarm bells for years. He had even alerted authorities twice in July 2019 when Harmony had a black eye, and also in October 2019 when she was last seen.

Harmony’s father had reportedly taken her custody from foster care just seven months before she was last seen. He had a criminal record, according to some reports.

Police conducted a search of the New Hampshire property Harmony lived in. It has a new owner who is fully cooperating in the investigation.

Harmony’s mother, Crystal Sorey, 31, had taken to social media to plead for help. Crystal said that she had filed countless abuse and child neglect reports in the past, but was always ignored.

Adam Montgomery is set to be arraigned later this morning, but the search isn’t over as the girl is yet to be found. The FBI has been working with the New Hampshire Police to find Harmony.

Harmony’s brother, Jamison, was adopted by another family and they were separated when “he was almost 3.” She had been reunited with her family according to the adoptive father, Blair Miller.

We’ve been asked this question repeatedly and understandably. When we adopted Jamison, Harmony had already been reunited with family. Jamison had not so we were able to adopt. Harmony’s case was closed. Please bring awareness to her case. It’s devastating.

It seems that by the time Jamison was adopted by Miller, Adam Montgomery had already won custody of his biological daughter, Harmony.
