Texas school shooting suspect arrested again for violating bond terms

A Texas high school shooting suspect who was out on a $75,000 bond has been arrested again for violating its terms.

Timothy Simpkins, 18, accused of opening fire on a Timberview High School classmate has been arrested again after his urine sample showed positive results for a substance.

His bond terms had barred the use of drugs and alcohol. Simpkins is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the school shooting that injured four.

Simpkins’ actions had injured a pregnant teacher, another teacher and a student who was grazed by the bullet he had fired towards the classmate he was fighting. Zaccaeus Selby, the student who Simkins was fighting with was critically injured in the incident.

The suspect’s family has claimed that Simkins was being bullied at school as it was Selby who hit him first. The Arlington Police Chief however, has dismissed the claim.

Simpkins’ release on bond just a day after the incident was criticized online.
