Charlotte police officers kill suspect as he stabbed step-child

Charlotte, North Carolina police officers acted quickly and shot a suspect as he stabbed his teenage step-daughter.

Officers had arrived at the house when the father was wielding a knife against his 13-year-old step-daughter. They were informed by the mother who had fled the building after the stepdad invaded it.

Police attempted to calm things down but resorted to firing after the man began to stab the girl.

The incident is being effectively investigated but the motive behind the stabbing of a child will never be understood. Officers involved in the shooting will now be placed on paid leave, as per the SOPs after every shooting.

Officers will be treated by mental health practitioners as the shooting has left at least one of them in shock. They are being hailed as heroes for saving the girl’s life.
