Grandmother in Detroit dies after being raped and beaten

A Grandmother in Detroit has passed away after she was raped and beaten by two suspects.

Shirley Bryant, 63, died on December 6 after being left outside an empty Church. She was suffering from rape inflicted and brutal beating injuries. Shirley was found naked by a stranger who heard her calling for help.

The two suspects reportedly started hitting on the Shirley a month before the brutal assault.

One of the suspects, Elvin Shepard, 44, has been charged and could face upgraded charges of murder, according to Police Chief James White. The second suspect has not been publicly identified but will be charged soon.

Shirley’s family have been left devastated and are in agony. Her son said that these monsters took his “mama” away from him for no reason.

Her family have started a GoFundMe that has raised $21,095 of the $7,500 goal.
