An explosion that occurred outside Liverpool’s Women’s Hospital has been declared a terror incident by the Police.

The attack took place on Remembrance Sunday when the UK remembers the sacrifices made by its service members. The UK’s terror threat level has been raised to “severe.”

A taxi exploded minutes before 11AM local time at a drop-off zone near the Hospital’s entrance. The passenger was killed and the driver injured in the explosion.

The driver has been identified as David Perry. Authorities are now anticipating another attack in Liverpool.

Since the attack, four person’s of interest have been arrested under the “Terrorism Act” by law enforcement.

It was the passenger

Authorities clarified that it was not the driver behind the bombing, but the passenger.

The passenger had “made an IED” which caused the blast. Police are aware of the attacker’s identity but have not revealed it to the public.

Delta Taxis driver David Perry had picked up a passenger from Rutland Avenue, Sefton Park. The passenger had asked to be taken to the Women’s Hospital which was 10 minutes away.

As the Taxi approached its destination, an explosion swallowed it in flames. The driver managed to survive but the terrorist passenger was killed in the explosion.

Police had arrested four men in connection with the terrorist in Kensington. Aged 20, 21, 26 and 29.

Authorities are now investigating their telephone records, travel history and any “purchases.”

Counter-terrorism detectives are now set to interrogate the arrested suspects. “Significant items” have been found in two of the addresses the Police have raided in connection to the terrorists.

Liverpool under attack

Liverpool has been under threat from terrorists. Just last month, British Member of Parliament Sir David Amess was stabbed to death by an Islamist terrorist.

Police are yet to find out what led the terrorists to conduct the bombing. International events are suspected to have motivated the them.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has condemned the “sickening attack.” He said the attack serves as a reminder for all to “remain vigilant.”

Cars arriving at Liverpool’s Women’s Hospital are now being checked by Police. Officers are also seen at the entrance of the building.

No changes have been made to patient appointments but visiting arrangements have been barred until further notice.

As the UK’s terror threat level has reached “severe,” it is anticipating another attack and authorities are set to remain vigilant.
