Zombie STD that leads to red ulcers spreading in UK

Donovanosis, a flesh-eating zombie sexually transmitted disease that results in red ulcers is spreading across the United Kingdom.

The cases, once rare are now spreading fast and cause thick sores which damage the genital tissue. The number of reported cases is growing in the UK and they are expected to rise further.

In the past, the disease was thought to be restricted to areas in India, South America and PNG, but they are now becoming common in the UK.

30 cases of the STD were reported in the UK in 2019. The number has now grown significantly according to doctors.

It is anticipated to pose a risk to the general public if the spread is not controlled.

The STD is usually transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. In rare cases however, even skin-to-skin contact can lead to its transmission. Apart from the two ways, mothers can also transmit the disease to their unborn babies.

Once inflicted with the disease, the host shows symptoms like skin damage, swollen red bumps and loss of genital skin color. (Note: These may or may not be all of the symptoms. Please contact your doctor for expert knowledge and help).

The CDC says the STD is common in some areas of India, South America (including Brazil), Australia, the Caribbean and Papua New Guinea.

Long-term use of antibiotics is so far deemed fit to battle the disease.
