Texas nurse found guilty of murdering 4 patients

A Texas nurse has been found guilty of killing four of his patients with air injections after they were recovering from heart surgeries.

William Davis, 37, could now face the death penalty after he was convicted of capital murder by the Smith County Jury on Tuesday. The attacks erupted at the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler in 2017 and 2018.

Davis targeted 7 people from June 2017 to January 2018, according to prosecutors. The victims suffered from seizure-like symptoms and died from lethal brain damage after the air was injected into their arterial lines.

The court learned that the doctors were shocked to see the patients suffer as they had been recovering well. Suspicions arose when CT scans showed air in the victims’ brains.

Footage played during the trial showed Davis entering a patient’s room whose heart alarm rung just minutes later.

Davis’ defense counsel however, argued that the Hospital is using his client as a fall guy to hide serious medical flaws.

Prosecutors have said that Davis likes “to kill people,” and he enjoyed murdering the four patients. They will now seek the death penalty for Davis.

His victims included Christopher Greenway, Joseph Kalina, John Lafferty and Ronald Clark. They were all adults, including seniors.
