Taiwan: Chinese military planes enter defense zone in biggest incursion
58 Chinese military jets have flown into Taiwan’s air defense zone in the last two days, according to the country.
This is Beijing’s biggest incursion to date as it sent its nuclear-capable military bombers into the area in two streams on Friday.
After Friday’s 38-plane incursion, Beijing sent a further 20 planes on Saturday.
Taiwan, that sees itself as a sovereign state is believed by Beijing to be a breakaway province.
Over the years, as China faces global condemnation and isolation, it has started preparing for military action in Taiwan.
Taiwan has complained that Beijing has buffed up its air operations near the island since last year.. The operations only seem to be growing.
Beijing, controlled by the CCP has made no comment on the alleged incursions so far.
In response to the incursions, Taiwan scrambled its jets and deployed missile systems.
