Florida man accused of killing girlfriend, resisting arrest
A Florida man was charged with first degree murder for killing his girlfriend.
An arrest was made after he confessed the deed to his mother and she called the police, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Jason Robinson, 37, struggled before the arrest, in which he removed the stun gun and radio of Polk County Sheriff and tried to choke him.
Two witnesses came to rescue and help the deputy to put handcuffs on Robinson, said the authorities.
“Had they not gotten involved, this could have been much worse than it already is,” told Sheriff Grady Judd.
The backup deputies discovered the girlfriend’s body buried underneath a pallet, with disturbed dirt at the top, accompanied by a table and two chairs.
The identity of the girlfriend was not revealed by the authorities.
The arrest was made outside an RV where Robinson and his girlfriend lived.
Robinson initially provided a false name and date of birth but was identified by the deputy with the help of a photograph.
His criminal record includes 19 felonies and 5 misdemeanors in Florida, also having an extensive criminal history in several other states.
Robinson has been jailed 4 times and was recently released in January.
He is currently charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, evidence tampering, battery on law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, providing false ID and depriving an officer with means to communication.
