Migrant Crisis: Del Rio mayor declares emergency; migrants to be flown

The government is all set to fly the recent surge of migrants back to their respective countries after a fresh swarm arrived at the Southern border.

Close to ten flights will begin from Sunday that would take the migrants back, as officials told the AP.

Over 11,000 migrants arrived at the Southern border and camped under a bridge connecting Del Rio to Mexico’s Ciudad Acuña.

This fresh swarm strained the already overburdened system combating record-breaking illegal entries thanks to Biden’s promises.

Del Rio mayor Bruno Lozano has declared a state of emergency as Border Patrol provides water and basic supplies.

This string consists mostly of Haitians, fleeing their country after the devastating 7.2-magnitude earthquake and rising political instability.

The Border Patrol has been overwhelmed by this recent surge and found abandoned children near the Rio Grande river.

As the temperatures soared, thousands of migrants were seen bathing and washing their clothes in the river.

The Rio Grande provides drinking water to over 6 million people.

Biden Administration’s FAA temporarily banned news drones from capturing the scenes, a move criticized by many and eventually reversed.

The administration earlier this year barred the media from covering the scenes at the camps, fearing the footage shown would hurt their “image.”

Had the Trump Administration done any kind of censorship then we may have seen another impeachment.

As the supplies dwindled, many migrants were seen heading back to Mexican cities in an attempt to gather more so they could share or sell.

ICE is all set to begin the deportation flights from Sunday.

The flights were paused by the Biden Administration in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Sen. Ted Cruz had criticized the move, fearing thousands more would arrive from Haiti.

Each flight will hold up to 140 passengers, and it may take months along with millions of dollars to fly all of the migrants until more arrive.

Some flights will also relocate the Haitian migrants to other sectors of the border for better processing.

According to some Homeland Security officials, the Haitians arriving are not coming directly from Haiti.

Those arriving have been living in South America for years, and ICE cannot deport them to other South American countries, but only to Haiti.
