Afghanistan: Taliban announce interim Government

Update: Qari Fasiullah will the the Chief of Army Staff.

Update: Sheikh Molvi Noorullah will be the interim Minister of Education.

Update: Mullah Haybatullah Badri will be the Minister of Finance.

Update: Khalliul Rahman Haqqani will be the Minister of Refugees.

Update: Mullah Abdul Haq will be the chief Afghan Intelligence, NDS.

Update: Molvi Hibatullah Akhundzada will be the Supreme Commander.

Update: Molvi Abdul Hanafi will be the interim Prime Minister’s Deputy as well.

Update: Molvi Amir Khan Muttaqi will be the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Update: Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai will be the interim Minister of Justice.

Update: Khairullah Wali will be the interim Minister of Information


Taliban have announced their new caretaker government. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhundzada Akhund to be the interim Prime Minister.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar will be his deputy, Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob will be the caretaker Defense minister and Sirajuddin Haqqani will be the caretaker Interior minister.

Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid made the announcement in a press conference.

Sirajuddin Haqqani is the head of the Haqqani network, a terrorist group aligned with the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

Haqqani has a $5m bounty on his head, and he will now head the defense and security of the country.
